The 2000 Presidential Election and the Foundations of Party Politics Campaigns suddenly seem to matter, as do questions about the electoral process in the aftermath of the 2000 presidential election. The authors examine the U.S. electoral process as an integrated event spanning a full year, drawing upon the Annenberg 2000 Election Study. The scale of their fieldwork is such that they have been able to isolate key turning points Associate Professor and that dynamics can be studied within certain segments. How Families Still Matter: A Longitudinal Study of Youths in Two Generations by Vern L. Bengtson, Are family influences on youth declining in importance? Are parents less important in shaping the life orientations Associate Professor and achievements of youth than they were a generation ago? What about the consequences of divorce? How Families Still Matter casts doubt on the conventional wisdom about family decline during the last decades of the twentieth century.
